Prepare your first workflow
Your first workflow - Stage 1 of 5
Choose one outcome and define the data and access you need.
Before you begin, complete Installation and read How NIM works.
Choose one account change
- Choose one source system that supplies identity data and one target system that will receive changes.
- Choose a single outcome, such as updating an account attribute or assigning access.
- Write down how you will verify success in the target system.
Use your organization's own systems and data. The implementing administrator decides which environment, accounts, and records are appropriate; this guide does not require creating separate accounts.
Confirm your environment is ready
- Complete Installation and confirm you can sign in to NIM Studio.
- Find the integration setup guides for your source and target.
- Arrange the connection details and permissions required by those connectors.
- Identify the environment and target location chosen for the first change.
Define your workflow scope
- Select the records appropriate for your workflow and note their unique identifiers.
- Identify a field that can match people across the source and target, such as an employee identifier.
- Decide which target attributes the workflow should populate.
- Agree how to correct or reverse the change if necessary.
Ready to continue: You can name the source, target, selected records, expected change, and person who will verify it.
